Class Spotlight

World History

In Mr. Ortman’s World History class, students just finished "The Rise of Six World Powers" and how late 1800s reformers got improvements for their society. Our next section will cover World War 1 and its impact on multiple societies, during and after the war.

FACS

This month students in Mrs. Pope’s FACS class are beginning a unit on Adulting 101. We will cover all things students will need post graduation to be successful adults. These include communication and job interview skills including resume building and mock interviews. We will cover apartment hunting, car buying, insurance, paying taxes and more. This is a great hands on, real world unit and students are excited!

Food Science

In Mr. Lee’s Food Science class, students are taking on the “Regional Hot Sauce Challenge”! Working in small teams, students are exploring flavors from around the world while learning the science behind heat, acid, and preservation. Not only are they sharpening their cooking and tasting skills, but they’re also applying chemistry, biology, and data analysis to craft sauces that are balanced, flavorful, and safe. The project culminates in a Flavor Summit, where each team will present their sauce, explain the science behind it, and showcase their creativity.
