The Aurora R-VIII School District encourages qualified persons interested in running for a position on the School Board to file to be a candidate in the April 7, 2026, election. Interested persons may file at the Central Office located at 201 S Madison, Aurora, MO. There are three positions available with three-year terms. Filing will begin on December 9, 2025, at 8:00 AM and will continue during the district's regular business hours, which are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. See the schedule below for changes in business hours. Filing will end on December 30, 2025, at 5:00 PM. Except for the first and last day of filing, filing will not occur on days that the Central Office is closed due to inclement weather or school breaks.
The Central Office will be open the following dates and times:
December 9-22 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM,
December 23 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 NOON,
December 29 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM,
December 30 from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM
Candidates will be listed on the ballot in the order in which they file.
