The Aurora Junior High will honor all veterans at its 25th Veterans Day Assembly on November 9, at 1:30 p.m. in the Aurora Junior High gymnasium. We invite all veterans from every branch of service to come to be honored by our students and staff for their service to our country. Our guest speaker will be Woody Greenfeather from Grove, Oklahoma. He is a former member of the 101st Airborne, Infantry Division and a current member of the Eastern Shawnee Indian Tribe. Please login to your parent infinite campus portal and complete a meal benefit form in order to prevent a pause in lunch benefits your students may have been receiving. The following steps can access the information: Login, select "more" under the menu tab. Then select "meal benefits" to complete this form. Students will be marked as a full pay meal and charged either $2.75 or $2.85 per meal depending on their building until this action is completed and benefits are determined. Please call your building office secretary if you have any questions.

An incident occurred while students from Robinson were at the Aurora city pool today that required APD to be called. A community member was acting in a manner in which was potentially threatening while students were eating lunch in the park. All students and staff members are safe and back at the Robinson building. Thank you to the APD for responding quickly in order to keep our students safe.
The 2023 Preschool-8th Grade Yearbooks are finally here! Yearbooks may be purchased at the building offices of Pate Early Childhood Center, Robinson School, or Aurora Junior High. The books are $20 each while supplies last. Pre-ordered yearbooks may be picked up at the building office of your child’s 2022-23 school.
It is National Assistant Principal Appreciation Week! Aurora is proud to recognize our three assistant principals this week and every week! We thank you for your commitment to the students of Aurora.
Aurora Police Department personnel requested that both Robinson School and the High School do a lockdown this morning due to their work in apprehending a suspect in a neighborhood close to the schools. Contrary to reports, there was not an incident inside either facility. The APD just wanted to make sure that all students and school personnel were safe inside the buildings.
Thanks to the APD for always thinking about the safety of students and staff at Aurora R-VIII.

The City of Aurora Parks Department is currently accepting registrations for a youth soccer league. Forms will be taken until March 1, 2023. The registration forms were sent out with students last week. Please submit the forms with a payment of $45 to Aurora City Hall at 2 West Pleasant between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The league is for grades preschool through 6th. There will also be a division for three-year old players who have turned three on or before March 1, 2023.
